Teen Patti Rules for Beginners: Hands, Betting & Etiquette
Teen Patti ("three cards" in Hindi) is India's most loved card game – easy to learn in one evening, endlessly deep to master. Here is everything a beginner needs before sitting at a table in Teen Patti Master.
The Goal
Each player receives three cards face down. Through rounds of betting, players either fold or keep matching the stake. The last player standing – or the best hand at a show – wins the pot.

Blind vs Seen
You may bet blind (without looking at your cards) or seen (after looking). Blind players bet half of what seen players must bet, which makes early blind play a cheap way to gather information while keeping the pot small.
How a Round Works
- Boot: everyone posts a small forced stake to seed the pot.
- Betting: moving clockwise, each player folds or matches/raises the current stake (blind players pay half).
- Show: when only two players remain, either may pay for a show – both hands are revealed and the stronger one takes the pot.
Three Etiquette Rules That Also Win You Money
- Act in turn. In the app this is enforced automatically, but staying attentive keeps the table fast and your reads sharp.
- Never reveal folded cards. It gives live players unfair information.
- Keep the chat friendly. Tilted opponents play worse – but a toxic table gets abandoned, and empty tables pay nobody.
